Stamping

Stamping allows you to add regular shapes and designs to your piece.

Step 1

Apply a  flowing coat , if desired.

Step 2

Select the stamps you wish to use.  If your piece has a curved surface where you plan to use stamps then you should take care to select stamps that are very flexible such as those made from foam.

Step 3

Dip a clean sponge into the underglaze to be used for the desired stamp and gently dab the underglaze over the surface of the stamp.

Step 4

Test how the stamp looks by applying it to the table paper.

Step 5

Repeat step 3 and then apply the stamp to your piece with care.  If the stamp does not look good you can remove the underglaze using a clean wet sponge.  If the underglaze is missing in places you can use a small brush to insert the missing pattern, if desired.

Step 6

You can repeat step 3 through  5 with different colors on different parts of your piece.
