Sponging

Using sponges can create interesting effects that gives the piece a textured or marbleized appearance.

Step 1

Apply a  flowing coat , if desired.

Step 2

Select the sponge(s) you wish to use.  The texture of the sponge will, of course, be reflected on the application of the underglaze.

Step 3

Dip the sponge into the clean water and remove the excess moisture.   Dip the sponge underglaze to be used.

Step 4

Test how the effect looks by applying it to the table paper.  Once you are satisfied you can apply the sponge to your piece.

Step 5

Repeat step 3 and then apply the stamp to your piece.

Step 6

You can repeat step 3 through  5 with different colors on different parts of your piece.
